Making it Personal: Pel Hughes

Marketing service provider prevails with personalization.

By Amber E. Watson

Located in New Orleans, LA, Pel Hughes, LLC was established in 1954. Today, the marketing service provider (MSP) operates out of a 35,000 square foot facility that houses 65 employees. The company relies on a mix of hardware and software, including digital presses from Xerox, offset equipment from Heidelberg, and Online Print Solutions’ cross-media marketing solution.

With its sophisticated line up, the shop is able to produce a range of services, including multi-channel variable data campaigns, data analytics and metrics, campaign reporting, mobile marketing, and email marketing. Additionally, Pel Hughes integrates the latest trends, including the use of personalized URLs, quick response (QR) codes, and image personalization.

Through case studies, white papers, and presentations, the MSP helps customers and staff understand how innovative marketing improves business. "Every marketer needs to measure return on investment, create a strong brand, generate leads, and convert them," explains Brian Hughes, VP business development, Pel Hughes, LLC. "We have solutions to meet those requirements through all of the steps, why not use the intelligence in the data to create relevant content for efficiencies? And why not speak to each recipient one-to-one and offer that open-door dialogue to gain further information about them?" he asks.

The company shares one example of its work, a full-color, data-driven program for a client with multiple dental offices in the region. Through an online ordering portal, each office manager is able to log on, upload data, select a template, proof, and order. Postcards are mailed within 24 hours. The monthly reminder cards have a relevant message and QR codes are added with a link to Google maps for the respective office location.

The company hopes to continue expanding its relevant cross-media campaign solution offerings and further develop its online marketing portals and mobile marketing effortsdps
