Part three of three
Digital print providers look to software and workflow tools to streamline processes ensuring productivity and profitability. A variety of production software tools were demonstrated on the show floor at PRINT 19.
Aleyant demonstrated its eDocBuilder, a web-based design and variable data publishing system. The solution was shown as standalone and part of a fully integrated print software workflow.
Avanti featured its sophisticated, end-to-end production software, Slingshot. Of note features include the Advanced Fulfillment Workflow Enhancement and the Avanti Slingshot XML Loader Enhancement for web to print (W2P) solutions.
BlueCrest showcased its Clarity Optimizer. Part of the Clarity suite of software solutions developed to offer an intelligent view into print and mail operations, Clarity Optimizer pulls sensor data from connected systems. With this information, businesses are able to gain actionable insights into their machines, jobs, and operators.
CapStone Technologies featured its AutoViriSoftware solution, which is specifically designed for the print-to-mail industry that connects physical and digital mail operations. The AutoViriSleever ran in the booth, performing repetitive manual functions of sleeving USPS mail trays.
Crawford Technologies unveiled the SmartSetup solution for rapidly onboarding applications into workflow automation and ADF systems. SmartSetup is designed to streamline and accelerate job onboarding by leveraging assistive technology that intelligently ingests data from multiple print streams to automate the normalization of applications into a generic workflow.
Customer’s Canvas demonstrated new features like Back Office 6.0 and Variable Data Printing 5.0.
EFI highlighted Fiery FreeForm Create, which is a new, standalone variable data creation. The free solution is based on Fiery FreeForm VDP technology and enables users to personalize existing files with an intuitive interface, adding elements like text, images, and barcodes. For print providers, Fiery FreeForm Create allows a starting point for personalization. EFI also demonstrated the latest version of the EFI Midmarket Print Productivity Suite, a solution that helps display graphics and print providers streamline production processes by eliminating touchpoints, increasing efficiencies, and increasing product margins.
Insoft Automation launched an Estimation Module on top of its Layout Planning & Ganging software. The solution features a single interface for creating print-ready layouts for packaging, commercial, and signage applications.
Print Reach, a new company formed from Virutal Systems and PagePath, made a splash with its 40-foot motor home. The company discussed its latest advancements in W2P and MIS/ERP products.
PressWise by SmartSoft demonstrated the latest features of its all-in-one, cloud-based W2P, MIS, and workflow automation platform including the new mobile-responsive Order Dashboard, expanded use of scannable barcodes, enhanced reporting, and improved multiple invoice payment.
Quadient showcased its Inspire customer communications management (CCM) solution. Inspire features output and compliance management, CCM platform consolidation, on-boarding of digital forms and processes, and mobile and web approval. The Inspire helps document owners to speed digital transformation, eliminate silos, create personalized digital experiences, and take action to improve the customer experience.
Rochester Software Associates (RSA) showcased new software releases designed to automate digital production print workflows. Attendees could view live demonstrations of the latest releases of WebCRD W2P software, QDirect output manager, and RSA’s Universal prepress suite, ReadyPrint.
Solimar Systems featured the latest innovations in PDF optimization with it the new ReadyPDF. The solution repairs and streamlines PDF files for high-speed print engines.
Tharstern featured its MIS, showing attendees Project Estimating, Mailing, and Sheet Optimization.
Tilia Labs, Inc. unveiled its new technology platform, tilia Cloud, for the first time. The solution is presented as a secure but open framework that aims to revolutionize the way print service providers connect, access, and manage their data. In tilia Cloud, Tilia Labs provides a cloud-based, internet of things toolkit customized for printing and packaging.
Ultimate TechnoGraphics released a new generation of its imposition solution, Ultimate Impstrip. The solution features a new Imposition Agent powered by artificial intelligence, new advanced dynamic marks preview, and power and memory capabilities.
On the Floor
Many vendors had the opportunity to shine at PRINT 19. In an industry in transition, the trade shows that support it follow suit. Next Fall, we look forward to witnessing Brand Print Americas 2020.
