Standard Finishing Systems, a leading supplier of post-press and paper handling solutions, recently announced the availability of the new Standard Hunkeler Generation 8 Roll-to-Roll solution. The solution was designed for efficient, automated roll processing on high-speed inkjet systems.
The Generation 8 Roll-to-Roll solution features the UW8 Unwinder and the RW8 Rewinder. The solution can run at up to 830 fpm on rolls up to 54” in diameter, and the unwinder and rewinder can handle rolls up to 1,980 lbs. Each can also handle web widths of up to 22.5” and manage paper weights of 40 – 300 gsm. The UW8 and the RW8 have been streamlined to reduce the total time it takes to change rolls to only five minutes. An intuitive touch screen display facilitates automated setup and gives operators an at-a-glance update on production. To improve production flexibility even further, the RW8 Rewinder can be equipped with one or more slitters and an edge trimmer on the left and right with no limitations on processing speed or paper weight.
