Earlier this year, we were gearing up to kick off what should have been an epic trade show season. Spring events were expected to commence with Dscoop Edge 2020. However, this was derailed as the country locked down state by state due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Like all hardships, 2020 has forced individuals, businesses, and industries to be creative and resilient as we adjust to a new way of life.
As one of the first industry events scheduled for this Spring, Dscoop made an early decision to postpone their in-person conference for the safety of its visitors and staff. In its stead, the team prepared for the Dscoop Edge Virtual Summit this Fall. More than 1,000 people worldwide registered for the event, which took place over October 21 and 22, 2020.
“I believe it speaks to the Dscoop community’s desire to come together, learn from each other, and share ideas,” comments Keith Wilmot, CEO, Dscoop, regarding the turnout.
Dscoop is a worldwide community of HP Graphic Arts users. Made up of more than 8,000 members, the organization is dedicated to growing the industry, its businesses, and its relationships. In a typical year, members gather in person at Dscoop Edge global and local events as well as connect online in its digital community to learn, share, and grow.
Change of Plans
The virtual event included informative presentations, giveaways, as well as an interactive chat and Q&A function.
The agenda for the Dscoop Edge Virtual Summit was designed to make it convenient for print providers all over the world to participate. For those that couldn’t make it, the organization offers recordings from both days at Dscoop.com. Registrants can replay sessions they attended and access any missed content from either day.
The first speaker attendees heard from was economist Alan Beaulieu. He presented the latest economic forecast data for the global economy by drilling down on trends in specific print sectors. Attendee feedback from the presentation was overwhelmingly positive.
Throughout the event, prerecorded clips of the Dscoop community sharing memorable moments from the past few months were shown.
See You This Spring
While virtual events offer a great way to connect with others as we work through a pandemic, we look forward to once again conversing in person. The 2021 Dscoop Fusion event is planned for May 16 to 18, 2021 at the St. Louis America’s Center, St. Louis, MI and online. dps
