Komori Corporation (Sumida-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Satoshi Mochida; hereinafter “Komori”) announces that it has acquired all shares of Maruyama Chiller Corporation (Hachioji, Tokyo; hereinafter Maruyama Chiller) on October 2, 2026, making it a wholly owned subsidiary. On the same date, Maruyama Chiller changed its corporate name to Komori Precision Technologies Corporation. Maruyama Chiller’s four overseas subsidiaries are also scheduled to adopt new corporate names bearing the Komori brand upon completion of the necessary procedures.
Under its 7th Medium-Term Management Plan, launched in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2025, Komori is pursuing expansion into new business domains and considers the strengthening of its Printed Electronics (PE) business particularly essential. This acquisition represents a strategic investment toward achieving this objective and is intended to bring manufacturing equipment leveraging Komori’s print technology to new markets.
1. Background
To date, Komori’s PE business has focused primarily on equipment for substrate manufacturing. To achieve further growth, however, broadening its customer base has been a key challenge. Komori aims to address this challenge by welcoming Maruyama Chiller, which has an established customer base comprising leading semiconductor manufacturers and semiconductor equipment manufacturers worldwide, into the Komori Group.
In the semiconductor sector, where Maruyama Chiller operates, the global semiconductor market continues to grow, driven primarily by growing demand associated with AI and data centers and higher levels of integration in integrated circuits (ICs). The market for chillers used in semiconductor manufacturing equipment is also expected to continue growing as investment in semiconductor manufacturing facilities increases, particularly in Asia and the United States.
With a proven track record in this market, Maruyama Chiller operates under the management philosophy of “pursuing the highest level of manufacturing technology, producing world-class products, and contributing to society.” Its strengths lie in highly precise, custom-engineered temperature control technology and quality backed by certification in accordance with international safety standards.
2. Expected Business Synergies
With Maruyama Chiller joining the Komori Group, Komori will expand its business domain beyond printing into the semiconductor manufacturing sector.
In addition, by leveraging Komori’s management resources, including its global network, to strengthen Maruyama Chiller’s production infrastructure, the Group will meet rapidly growing demand for chillers while further accelerating overseas business expansion.
