Part four of four
By DPS Staff
Print 17 presents an opportunity for print providers from every environment to convene and check out the latest and greatest in print, finishing, software, and consumables.
As print continues to mature, media providers strive to offer unique solutions and solve production challenges. Further, inks and toners advance to provide vibrant colors and better adhesion.
Here we highlight new media solutions on the show floor and recap additional products and services.
Consumables
Avery Products Corporation showcased its new label stock for dry toner materials. Options include White Matte Soft Touch, White Durable PET, White Semi-Gloss, and Removable Adhesive.
Flexmag showcased its FlexCoat EZS solution, a wide format offering engineered to eliminate issues associated with traditional vinyl laminated magnets. Instead of laminating the print surface, a durable, printable coating is applied directly to the flexible magnet, actually becoming part of the magnet. It is available in sheets and rolls with standard roll widths of 24-5/16, 30, and 40 inches.
GPA highlighted a variety of new products and resources, including GPA Metalized Styrene, which are substrates that look like thick metal sheets but without the added weight. The thick styrene base and thin metal top layer make these sheets ideal for high-end signage and point of purchase displays.
The company also introduced its collection of Wood Veneers Boards, which are made from real wood and bring a unique wood grain to each sheet.
HOP Industries showcased its Hop-Syn To white matte synthetic paper.
International Paper showcased its “Color is forever” theme, which highlights its role providing inkjet papers. The Accent Opaque and Williamsburg digital inkjet papers are designed to keep ink at the top of the sheet to provide brilliant color and clarity.
Kao Chimigraf featured inkjet inks for furniture and flooring, coding and marking, packaging and label-ing, and coating and varnish.
Magnum Magnetics showcased its range of direct printable magnetic media for multiple printer types including roll-fed inkjet, laser/toner, and latex presses. The company also showcased its line of aque-ous and UV coatings from its sister company, Magnum Inks & Coatings, a full-service ink and coating manufacturer featuring matte, gloss, and satin coatings that give printed pieces—magnet or other-wise—an attractive finish.
Magnets 4 Media offered samples kits of its media options for print providers.
Masterpiece Graphix offered attendees samples of innovative printing materials, from solid core poly-ester to printable wood veneer as well as a swatchbook of specialty substrates.
Mitsubishi Imaging, Inc. highlighted its coated high-speed inkjet papers, where are designed to print and dry fast, lower ink consumption, and produce brilliant color.
Relyco showcased its Silver MetaliK high-quality reflective media product.
