Epicor Software Corporation, a global provider of industry-specific enterprise software to promote business growth, today announced its DocStar Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solution is now available for Epicor Prophet 21 software.
Acquired by Epicor in early 2017, DocStar is known in the document management and automation industry for its customer-first attitude to help ensure customers are successful with their ECM and accounts payable (AP) automation projects.
DocStar ECM for Prophet 21 software is a powerful, easy-to-use comprehensive enterprise content management and process automation solution. Designed to help manage and process documents and associated content in a secure environment, DocStar provides a single platform with a range of content management functionality including document management, searching, scanning/OCR, workflow, versioning, record retention/management, and online forms.
“Lost, misfiled and delayed approvals on documents cost organizations time and money. Remote employees, compliance and security issues add even more layers of complexity to an already-complex system,” said Sanjay Kumar, vice president, product management, Epicor. “DocStar ECM can help improve productivity and save costs by creating a paperless workflow to achieve higher efficiency and productivity, better business insights, better cash management, improved collaboration, and a simplified audit process.”
Cloud-based functionality for document management on the go
DocStar ECM solution is now available integrated with newest release of Epicor Prophet 21 software, enabling users to archive and retrieve documents seamlessly. With the DocStar AP automation module, users can automatically and securely capture, index, route, approve and integrate AP invoices.
When deployed on the DocStar ECM hosted service, customers can enjoy the benefits of very low overhead and minimal startup investment, easy access via a web browser and the security of a redundant, disaster-proof data center. There is no specialized hardware to manage and there is no up-front capital investment. The DocStar solution is also available as a standalone ECM product.
“G.L. Huyett needed an enterprise content management system to gain timely access to information, streamline labor-intensive tasks, reduce physical storage space, and replace multiple legacy applications,” said Scott Longfellow, vice president, Finance, G.L. Huyett. “After reviewing several solutions, we chose DocStar because of its rich features, powerful workflow designer, seamless integration with Prophet 21, user-friendliness and intuitive interface, and because we knew we would have great support from our long-trusted vendor, Epicor. We expect DocStar to quickly become a core platform with which we manage our business alongside Prophet 21 and will ultimately help us grow our business.”
