TECHKON – the innovation leader in high-precision color measurement solutions for packaging and commercial printers – announces today the release of ChromaQA version 4.0, its advanced print color quality solution. ChromaQA provides a very cost effective, and easy to use, set of tools designed to monitor the color quality of jobs on press, reduce the number of re-makes, and deliver significant savings in ink and paper by detecting color problems early in the print production process.
While ChromaQA has already been highly praised for its ease of use, version 4.0 raises the bar again with the introduction of an all new, optional, software module called the Automation Agent which allows a printer’s existing MIS/pre-press system to interface directly with the ChromaQA Cloud Server for an automated job creation workflow. Accessed via a software API or input “hot folder”, MIS systems can now send color and job information directly to ChromaQA, where jobs are then automatically created and sent to a printers job queue. This new functionality eliminates the need for customer service or prepress personnel to input this required data into ChromaQA.
“We are thrilled to release the Automation Agent module and provide ChromaQA customers with a solution to fully automate the job creation process” said Stephen Rankin, Director of Product Development for Techkon USA. “This totally eliminates the need for operators to manually enter job specific data into ChromaQA, which in turn, eliminates the chance for human error and greatly streamlines productivity. Quite simply, Automation Agent has proven to be a real game changer for our larger ChromaQA clients who have now automated their workflow and centralized the job creation process.”
Other new features in ChromaQA v4.0 include:
Template-based workflow that allows operators to set up job templates for repeat work or when jobs are very similar to each other. The new template workflow dramatically reduces the setup time for operators and increases overall efficiencies.
A quick color compare feature in the Chroma Standards module which is ideal for comparing ink drawdowns to master color standards. Tolerances can be set so ink technicians see pass/fail indication and the Techkon InkCheck feature shows the range of ink densities which produce in-tolerance results along with the lowest deltaE that is achievable for each ink recipe.
The Techkon ColorEnsure feature, which automatically configures the SpectroDens to match the color measurement settings specified in a job, has been expanded to also include an instrument calibration interval and reminder. This feature ensures that all operators are calibrating their instruments at the same frequency to further ensure color accuracy across the workflow.
ChromaQA’s integrated ScoreCard system has also been expanded to include additional scoring metrics and weighting factors to cover a wider range of brand and printer needs.
