Avanti Systems Ltd today announced it is extending its collaboration with HP to empower print services providers (PSPs) to be more efficient and productive with Avanti Slingshot and HP PrintOS. Avanti will demonstrate these new capabilities at Dscoop Edge conference in Orlando, Florida, March 24-27.
For most PSPs, calculating the profit margin on each job they produce is standard business practice. However, seeing those calculations within minutes of the job being printed has been unheard of, until now. With Avanti Slingshot and the HP PrintOS Jobs API, PSPs will experience tight integration and real time, bidirectional job data flow between these systems – eliminating manual rekeying of data and insuring accuracy of the resulting calculations. The advantages of this new and integrated production workflow capability will become evident as Avanti tracks actual profitability statistics using data from an HP Indigo digital press, as it runs jobs during the event.
“Information is power,” said Patrick Bolan, President and CEO, Avanti Systems Ltd. “Avanti Slingshot provides data on virtually every aspect of the process, from job costing and estimating through invoicing and delivery, enabling fact-based management at every stage of the process. Our integration with the PrintOS Jobs API helps Avanti Slingshot customers quickly review the profitability of each job and improve estimating practices by comparing the actual manufacturing cost.”
“Knowing the actual profitability of each job helps HP Indigo customers improve estimating practices to win more work, more often.” Says Bob Raus, North American Category Manager for HP Indigo. “The mission of PrintOS is to provide tools that help HP Indigo customers open new markets, compete more effectively and deliver profitable growth. We are excited to work with Avanti to demonstrate this new capability at Dscoop Orlando.”
Avanti Slingshot captures a variety of job-level statistics from the HP PrintOS Jobs API, such as type and quantity of substrate, ink consumption and start and stop times. Slingshot uses that data to quickly compute costs, then uses the job sale price to calculate profit margins.
