Bell and Howell, a leading provider of solutions and services for communications and commerce technology solutions, has announced it has joined the Global Address Data Association. GADA advocates to posts, government authorities and development bodies worldwide the importance of developing addressing and location data systems, and making the data available to businesses.
GADA’s mission includes participating in the United States Postal Service’s Mailers’ Technical Advisory Committee, and the organization has invited Bell and Howell representatives to participate in this work. Brian Bowers, Vice President/Chief Technology Officer, and Mike Swift, Vice President/General Manager, Sorting & Parcels, will attend an August 11 MTAC meeting as representatives of GADA. MTAC’s membership is drawn from the entire postal industry, and it provides advice and opinions of the mailing community to the USPS with respect to its products and services.
“MTAC is the ‘voice of the consumer,’ and Bell and Howell brings to the conversation with the USPS its unique insights into the postal needs of all its customers,” said GADA Executive Director Charles Prescott.
“Bell and Howell has a long history of having executives serve on MTAC, and we are very pleased to continue this relationship,” stated CEO Ramesh Ratan. “Our desire is to work with industry leaders to continue improving how mail and parcels are processed and delivered in the United States and worldwide.”
“Bell and Howell has a well-established record as being an industry leader in address quality, which is essential for predictable mail delivery and the foundation for effective multichannel communication,” said Chris Lien, President of BCC Software. “Their continued participation in MTAC is welcomed, especially at a time when greater emphasis is being placed upon address quality and optimized mail preparation.”
