Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, today announced the Océ ColorWave® 700 large format printing system, a cost-wise, space-wise solution for companies looking to produce a variety of graphic arts applications. The Océ ColorWave® 700 large format printing system is ideal for reprographers and in-plant shops that want to offer new large format services, including posters, pop-up banners, wallpaper, and more – all the while handling CAD and GIS documents with ease. In addition the Océ ColorWave 700 is highly productive and cost efficient for print service providers and retailers who want to produce short-run point-of-sale color specialties more economically with no set-up time or complex finishing burden.
According to Marco Boer at IT Strategies, Inc., a digital printer market research and consultancy, “The ColorWave 700’s paper path enables it to print on a broad range of heavier, inexpensive (since no pre-treatment is required) substrates as well as vinyl and canvas. This capability extends the ColorWave technology’s application reach into short-term use point-of-purchase signage, leveraging the ColorWave’s vibrant color output.”
Provides a versatile workhorse
The Océ ColorWave 700 system is versatile in its ability to output a wide array of color applications. Organizations can expand their services cost-effectively with Océ MediaSense technology, providing the ability to print on thicker media (up to 32mil) and enabling production of color posters, pop-up banners, disposable point-of-sale, wallpaper, canvas and many other applications – all with one device. The system prints up to 640 posters or 1800 A1/D-size CAD drawings per working day, and with the flexibility to print on low-cost uncoated media or high-end specialties with the same high-quality to meet customer demands.
Print service providers, reprographers, retailers and in-plant printers can use the Océ ColorWave 700 system to consolidate their large format graphics and technical applications printing into a single easy-to-use system. With up to six different rolls of media that can be loaded simultaneously, the printer is able to handle many different jobs uninterrupted, without having to load and unload rolls in-between. And with optional Take-Up Module, users can easily choose between roll-to-finished sheet or roll-to-roll printing. This means it can replace multiple color inkjet printing systems and improve efficiency.
“Canon’s Océ large format printers are designed to be highly productive and user friendly,” said Junichi Yoshitake, senior vice president and general manager, Business Imaging Solutions Group, Canon U.S.A., Inc. “Color and black & white are converging in our world and we are meeting that market demand once again by expanding our core large format capabilities to help our customers become more competitive. The Océ ColorWave 700 offers a unique combination of graphics application versatility, high speed, productive printing and operational simplicity to meet the rapidly changing needs of a variety of retailers, in-plant and professional print providers.”
