Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, today announced an integration of its business mobile print and scan applications to help users streamline document workflow, increase productivity and maximize efficiency. Designed to provide business customers with a user-friendly application that can help save time and meet workflow needs, the Company has launched the new Canon PRINT Business application for compatible business-class laser MFP and printer devices compatible with certain devices in the imageCLASS1, imageRUNNER and imageRUNNER ADVANCE multifunction system2 lineups.
The Canon PRINT Business application combines the current Canon Mobile Printing and Canon Mobile Scanning for Business applications into one product. This application is an ideal tool for business professionals that need to print various documents, presentations, web pages or images wirelessly from their compatible iPhone® or iPad® devices with iOS 7 – iOS 8 or AndroidTM smartphones and tablets with OS 4 – OS 5.* The new application also gives users the opportunity to scan important files into their mobile devices before they travel or attend an off-site meeting.
“Canon consistently strives to provide its business customers with tools that help streamline workflow processes and save time,” said Junichi Yoshitake, senior vice president and general manager, Business Imaging Solutions Group, Canon U.S.A., Inc. “With the launch of the new Canon PRINT Business application, users can now seamlessly manage their mobile printing and scanning projects through one application to support everyday business needs.”
The Canon PRINT Business application retains all of the features of the Canon Mobile Printing and Canon Mobile Scanning for Business applications, including an easy-to-use interface, customizable settings, scan and print preview screens, secure printing features and a data conversion service3 to help correct the layout and format of compatible Microsoft® office files, along with new functionalities to help manage information easily. New capabilities introduced with Canon PRINT Business include4:
• Near Field Communication (NFC) support for compatible Android™ smartphones or tablets for easy wireless connectivity for those compatible printer devices with built-in NFC. By simply touching a compatible Android device to the printer, users can print various documents from their mobile device with ease.
• iCloud® integration, which enables users to easily access their iCloud files directly from the Canon PRINT Business Application on iPhone and iPad with iOS 8 or later. This new cloud support is in addition to existing support for DropBox® and Google DriveTM service.**
• Keystone correction, a function that allows the user to adjust the dimensions of an image so that it fits correctly into a shape for crisp output.
Furthermore, the Canon PRINT Business application intuitively collaborates with the Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY application used to manage Canon inkjet-based products. Users will be instructed to the App Store® or on Google PlayTM to download the correct application for their individual products, or will be automatically transferred to the other application if it is already installed.
Both the Canon PRINT Business application and Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY application are now available for free download in the Apple App Store and on Google Play. Canon recommends current users of the Canon Mobile Printing and Canon Mobile Scanning for Business applications to download and transition use to the new Canon PRINT Business application in order to take advantage of the newly available features and to receive the timeliest application updates in the future5.
