Horizon, a major worldwide provider of top-quality finishing products, is strengthening its collaboration with HP Indigo with the addition of a Horizon bookletmaker in-line to the HP Indigo 7000-series presses. This new addition is part of an ongoing strategy to expand the inline automation portfolio and offer the widest and most complete range of automated finishing solutions for Indigo customers.
The Horizon Bookletmaker SPF-200HP will make its North American debut in-line with the HP Indigo 7800 Digital Press on the HP booth (#613) at Print 17, September 10-14 in Chicago, IL USA. Horizon distributor Standard Finishing Systems will also show the Horizon SmartStacker, processing B2 sheets from the HP Indigo 12000 Digital Press in the Standard booth (#1231) at Print 17.
The new Horizon Bookletmaker SPF-200HP for HP Indigo 7000-series presses is based on the bestselling Horizon SPF-200 series technology platform, designed to produce consistently high quality and precise output. Fast and easy operator training is possible due to user-friendly touchscreen operation and advanced automation. The SPF-200HP is ready to connect with a JDF workflow.
The Horizon SmartStacker, integrated near line with the HP Indigo 12000 Digital Press, provides automated cutting, trimming, collating, and stacking. A perfect complement to the efficiencies of the HP Indigo 12000 Digital Press, the SmartStacker helps increase automation for faster job turnaround, reduced waste and fewer errors. Applications include finished products from postcards to posters, individual sheets or sets, book block output for bookbinding, and stacked output for packaging.
“We are very proud of the advances we have made together with HP, as our integrated solutions save significant time, reduce errors, and eliminate waste,” said Eijiro Hori, President at Horizon. “Our connected workflow and system automation serve to minimize manual intervention, for simpler operation and precise results.”
A series of cut-sheet applications pre-printed on HP Indigo presses will also be finished on different Direct-to-finish Horizon finishing solutions at Print 17, including the SmartSlitter multi-function finisher.
“Standard’s technology partner Horizon has been working closely with HP over several years to enhance the ability of our joint customers to move from digital file to finished product with minimal intervention” said David Reny, Executive Vice President, Standard Finishing Systems. “These exciting new solutions reflect their continued investment and progress in digital postpress workflows and finishing technology.”
