Nobelus, a lamination supplier known for its premium finishes, is introducing a new product to its thermal laminate portfolio. FineGrit Laminate offers brands a distinctive, sandy texture that provides a contrast to the soft-touch finishes currently popular in the general commercial print industry. It measures 2 mil thick, is made of biaxially oriented polypropylene, and is compatible with conventional offset, flexographic, and HP® Indigo presses.
FineGrit Laminate’s rough-touch effect is embossed into the laminate during production, which means it cannot be rubbed off with regular use. The result is an extremely durable and scuff-resistant finish that maintains its original quality in transit and on store shelves. The Nobelus product development team has dedicated a significant amount of time to testing the new thermal laminate to verify that it can meet the demands of a variety of applications. FineGrit Laminate is receptive to a range of post-lamination processes, including die cutting and folding, and it preserves the colors and sharpness of printed designs with its clear coating.
“FineGrit Laminate is an excellent option for brands that want to convey the durability and resilience of their products through their packaging,” says Tom Snooks, Film Product Manager at Nobelus. “It serves as a much-needed addition to our Tactile Collection, which includes a soft-touch laminate and finishes inspired by premium linens and genuine leather.”
Like other laminates in the Nobelus Tactile Collection, the memorable haptic appeal of FineGrit Laminate is designed to help customers form a connection with packaging, thereby driving more sales. Its development and launch are geared towards printers who want to offer their customers a finish that imparts a sense of ruggedness and toughness. It is ideal for folding cartons, board games, pocket folders, business cards, and many more applications where an earthy, gritty appeal will help elevate design elements.
