Printing United is the next-generation version of the annual SGIA Expo. The event is scheduled to take place from October 23 to 25, 2019 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, TX. According to show organizers—Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) and NAPCO Media—the re-launched event is designed to provide access to the latest solutions for apparel, graphics/wide format, and functional printing applications, while also extending into the commercial, packaging, and in-plant printing segments.
The event’s objective is to convey all components of integrated solutions to satisfy a variety of print industry needs.

Exhibitor Highlights
Hundreds of exhibitors demonstrate the latest and greatest in the printing industry on the exhibit floor.
Absolute Printing Equipment/KAMA/Perfecta USA/Baumann, booth 9955, displays its finishing equipment product lines. A KAMA 76 die cutter with foiling, optical registration, and a tool-less stripping and blanking unit is featured as well as FlexFold 52i and Profold folder/gluers. Perfecta and Baumann paper cutting and material handling machines round out the exhibit.
Akiles Products, Inc., booth 10363, specializes in full-range binding and laminating equipment and supplies, plus other print finishing equipment such as business card slitters, bookletmakers, trimmers, and corner rounders, a selection of which are highlighted in its booth.
Colex, booth 8816, announces its Sharpcut Pro model SX1732. The 5.5×10.5 foot cutter offers faster speeds, a four-inch wider and four-inch longer cutting bed, and a new sleek design offering in standard and conveyor models. The new Sharpcut Creator model SX1717 5.5×5.5 foot solution is also shown. This configuration is ideal for shops with limited space and supports kiss cutting and prototype workflows. Additionally, the new Fotoba XLD170 with Stacker connected inline with a printer offers a solution for unattended printing.
Color Concepts, booth 7235, showcases the newest Barbieri solutions in color measurement for digital textile printing together with new services. The new Spectro LFP qb textile edition is the first fully automatic, high-end measurement solution for all types of textile applications.
Color-Logic, booth 10564, demonstrates how brands, agencies, and print providers can bolster brand identity across various print platforms and processes using its Process Metallic Color system software. Attendees are invited to see actual metallic samples printed using inkjet, offset, screen print, flexography, and gravure.
Crawford Technologies, booth 9962, showcases its software solutions. Featured products include PRO Conductor, PRO Inkjet Express, and QA in the Cloud. PRO Conductor is an integration platform solution that orchestrates every step of an end-to-end print production workflow. PRO Inkjet Express allows print and mailing service providers and in-plant operators to take advantage of the inherent efficiency of inkjet when converting to inkjet presses. QA in the Cloud automates document testing and manages continuous regression testing, as well as quick comparisons with on-premises or secure cloud licensing options.
DirectMail2.0, booth 11351, is a direct mail technology company that achieves an average 20 to 46 percent increase in return on investment on clients’ direct mail campaigns. This happens with patent-pending, cutting-edge digital technology that is presented beautifully and simply to allow clients to see the effectiveness and responses on traditional direct mail in real time.
Duplo USA, booth 8408, showcases a complete range of print finishing solutions from slitter/cutter/creasers and die cutters to bookletmakers, perfect binders, and UV coaters. Print embellishment solutions—including the DDC-810 Raised Spot UV Coater and DFL-500 Dry Coat/Foil/Laminator—are displayed.
Fujifilm, booth 8220, showcases the new J Press 750S. With press speeds of up to 3,600 sheets per hour, and introducing a larger sheet size, this third generation J Press doubles letter size output over the previous version. Attendees also experience the Acuity Ultra, a superwide UV printer available in 126- and 197-inch versions. Rounding out the Fujifilm booth is the Acuity LED 40 Series of flatbed printers, featuring up to eight color channels, including white, varnish, and light ink options.
GCC America, Inc., booth 3400, presents its range of products including GCC LaserPro Spirit GLS Hybrid and C180 II laser engravers, StellarMark IFII laser marker, JF-240UV flatbed printer, and its cutting plotter lines—Jaguar V LX, Puma IV, Expert II 24 LX, AR 24, and i-Craft 2.0.
GMG Americas, booth 10561, demonstrates GMG ColorProof. Offering uncompromising color fidelity, it provides a solution for efficient and safe contract proofing. Specifically meeting the needs of the packaging industry, GMG patented OpenColor technology enables accurate proof simulation of the overprinting effects of spot colors. It ensures CMYK and spot colors print exactly as intended.
GTI Graphic Technology, Inc., booth 11447, provides lighting systems for critical color viewing. The company features desktop viewers, viewing stations with rolling floor stands, and large format viewing solutions. Single source daylight—D50 or D65—and multi-source viewing solutions are available. All products comply with industry viewing standards. On display is the new MM-2436e, an affordable multi-source mid-size viewing solution.
Heidelberg, booth 10143, intends to echo the show’s theme of convergence by highlighting its solutions for the commercial, packaging, and label markets through a variety of presentations and live demonstrations—attracting new customers and empowering current customers to transcend traditional segmentation and expand into new areas of business. In the booth, a live digital packaging demonstration showcases a sample job printed on Heidelberg’s Versafire EP digital press that is die cut on the new Digimatrix 60 FC and folded and glued on the new Diana Go 85.
Kodak, booth 11938, features its full portfolio of solutions, including workflow, digital printing, and CTP technology. KODAK PRINERGY Workflow solutions offer customers maximum automation, value, and flexibility to remain competitive, supporting all major printing processes across commercial and packaging—offset, flexographic, digital, and gravure. Kodak digital printing solutions, such as PROSPER, ULTRASTREAM, NEXPRESS, and NEXFINITY provide a balanced portfolio across distinct product categories, enabling reach into new market applications. Also displayed, energy-saving KODAK CTPs and process-free plate technology as well as KODAK SONORA PROCESS FREE Plates.
Konica Minolta, booth 9536, showcases its production print/industrial print toner and inkjet-based presses, wide format printers, packaging and label presses, MGI decorative and embellishment products, graphic arts software and solutions, and post-press finishing products. The exhibit features an immersive experience that brings to life creative solutions from Konica Minolta in a multi-sensory way.
Martin Yale Industries, booth 11633, boasts over 75 years of designing, engineering, and manufacturing high-performing equipment for the paper handling and print finishing industries. The company ensures the right products at affordable prices with world-class support, guaranteed. Rochester Software Associates, booth 11146, invites attendees to view live demonstrations of the latest releases of WebCRD in-plant web to print software featuring new ImpactVDP, QDirect output manager, and ReadyPrint, universal prepress suite.
Rollem, booth 10351, features the new Insignia 6 die cutter and previews two specialty finishing systems—Rollem SS for partial slitting of pressure-sensitive adhesive materials and the Automated PB16 Drilling system.
Shark Finishing Machinery, booth 11736, offers a diverse line of digital print finishing machinery including paper cutters, perfect binders, business card cutters, creasers, perforators, corner rounders, stitchers, joggers, and UV coaters. Shark showcases the new SB-460 perfect binder, which binds up to 18.5 inches long and 2.65 inches thick. The company also features its line of glass coaters. Using traditional UV coating, these glass coaters give a superior glass-like shine.
Tharstern, booth 11551, offers demonstrations of its MIS solution throughout the event. The company showcases new features to visitors, including project estimating, mailing, and sheet optimization.
Ultimate TechnoGraphics, booth 11246, releases the next generation of its imposition solution, Ultimate Impostrip 2019. With new Imposition Agent powered by artificial intelligence, advanced dynamic marks preview, and power and memory capabilities, users benefit from an enhanced experience in a redesigned and intuitive Mac and Win OS interface.
