Printing United is the new iteration of the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association’s (SGIA) annual trade show. The event takes place from October 23 to 25, 2019 in Dallas, TX. The idea behind it is to focus on the opportunities presented by the convergence of printing technologies and markets, covering print and finishing technologies in industry segments from textile to commercial and industrial printing.

The Exhibit Floor
Hundreds of vendors plan to exhibit at Printing United. Here we offer highlights from several vendors.
Aleyant and Ultimate TechnoGraphics, booths 11245 and 11246, join forces to deliver an end-to-end print workflow automation solution. The mix of Aleyant’s full suite of order entry and production automation solutions with Ultimate Impostrip and Ultimate Bindery creates the Intelligent Print Workflow.
Canon Solutions America, booth 7016, showcases its large format roll-to-roll, flatbed, continuous-feed monochrome and color presses, and cutting and finishing solutions for commercial printers, sign shops, and in-plants. Under the Canon and Océ brands, the Arizona, Colorado, VarioStream, ProStream, and ColorStream series have won over 50 industry awards. The Colorado series uses new Canon UVgel inks, formulated for maximum flexibility by increasing the “stretchability” of each cured ink droplet. Océ FLXfinish technology, a new approach to LED curing, allows you to choose between matte or gloss print modes to achieve different finishes, removing the need to change inks or media.
Color-Logic, booth 10564, shows printed samples using digital, offset, inkjet, flexography, gravure, and screen technologies. Licensed Color-Logic printers offer brands a competitive edge to help them stand out and get to market faster. It is compatible with any printing device using silver ink or toner and CMYK on conventional substrate, or any printing device using white ink or toner with CMYK on reflective substrate.
Diversified Nano Solutions Corp. (DNSC), booth 12547, showcases digital inkjet ink solutions for security, tracking, and high-speed item processing applications based on—UV/IR invisible, MICR, and INKcrypt Ink, the most advanced way to instantly authenticate and track physical items globally, to eliminate counterfeiting, track and revolutionize supply chain, enhance loyalty, and to promote brands. Learn how DNSC uses INKcrypt inks and coatings containing customizable, brand specific DNA derivative substances and a near-instant online digital validation process to verify and report product authenticity at any point in the supply chain and at end-user level.
Durst, booth 7816, features two new products, the P5 350 and the 2500 L. The P5 350 is a hybrid printing solution for roll and board printing up to 11.5 feet wide. The new Rho 2500 L provides 100 dpi with an 8 picoliter droplet, printing speeds up to 200 boards an hour, and custom configurable automation systems.
Epson, booths 5410 and 5610, displays the recently announced SureColor F6370. The 44-inch high-performance dye-sublimation printer offers print speeds up to 680 square feet per hour. Designed with ease of use in mind, the intuitive SureColor F6370 comes equipped with Epson Edge workflow software, featuring an Adobe PostScript 3 engine.
FLEXcon Company, Inc., booth 8024, introduces and demonstrates FLEXcon HX5000 with HOV-X Technology. This new slideable, repositionable removable adhesive system is designed for full and partial wraps and posters where the application surface is primarily vertical. It allows the installer to remove the graphic, snap it up, and reposition it without the risk of stretching or distorting the graphic. The air egress liner reduces air entrapment and makes bubble removal a snap.
Heraeus Noblelight America, booth 10964, showcases its UV LED Semray and microwave-powered LightHammer UV curing solutions for digital high production presses. Visitors can see the Semray 4103, ideal for single-pass presses, and water cooled UV LED curing systems for high-speed digital printing. Retrofitting existing presses is easy and cost effective using the modular UV curing systems.
Highcon, booth 11632, delivers innovation and differentiation that converters need by transforming finishing into a value adding process to positively impact users’ profitability by increasing speed to market, eliminating costly production steps, and reducing carbon footprint.
INX, booth 10555, highlights high performance TRIANGLE brand alternative inks, plus dye-sublimation and Prodigy brand inks for industrial print applications. The EVOLVE Advanced Digital Solutions custom integration hardware program is also represented.
Konica Minolta/MGI, booth 9536, highlights a variety of equipment including the AccurioPress C6100 w/IQ-501 toner press, WEBJet 100D transactional press, MGI JETvarnish 3DS digital enhancement press, MGI JETvarnish 3D EVO 75 digital enhancement press, MGI JETvarnish 3D Web digital label enhancement press, AccurioLabel 230 with Metas Finisher digital press, PLS-475i with PLS 401f Label Solution, PLS-675i Carton Printer, and the AccurioWide 200 and 160.
Mactac, booth 7627, offers hands-on demonstrations featuring media and overlaminates for all wall, window, and floor applications.
Magnum Magnetics, booth 4421, showcases its range of printable magnetic and magnetic-receptive media for the wide format market. The company will show attendees how to easily print directly to magnets to create attractive display and point of purchase graphics that really stick. Featured products include DigiMaxx and DigiMaxx Engage.
Martin Yale, booth 11633, announces the new VersaCut by Count. Made in America, the VersaCut is a rotary die cutter designed to meet or exceed the capabilities of competing models offered at a fraction of the cost.
Muller Martini, booth 10543, encourages attendees to “Experience the Magic” as it offers live demonstrations of its Finishing 4.0 portfolio, including the Presto II Digital, Vareo Perfect Binder, and InfiniTrim Three-knife Trimmer.
Nobelus, booth 10141, displays its line of tactile, holographic, and specialty films and foils, including two of the company’s latest releases—Karess SmudgeProof and LavishLinen. Stop by to see three of its most popular machines live in action, the Amiga 76, Amiga 52 with Sleeking, and the Protopic Photo running Silver Halide Replacement photos.
PressWise by SmartSoft, booth 11357, invites visitors to see exciting new tools and enhancements made to PressWise over the last few months. Enhancements include a new mobile-responsive Order Dashboard as well as expanded use of scannable barcodes for increased automation, greater control over how sales tax is determined, enhanced reporting, and improved multiple invoice payment handling.
printIQ, booth 11652, highlights the latest version of printlQ MWS, featuring innovations and updated capabilities for quoting, production, planning, inventory, accounting, shipping, reporting, and invoice consolidation. The latest integration for printlQ is with U.K.-based Infigo ecommerce software. Infigo joins companies including Chili, Enfocus, Esko, HP, Ultimate, XMPie, and Zapier, who all have existing integrations with printlQ.
Printmatics, booth 7950, showcases its workflow management software developed specifically for the large format printing industry. From sales quote to invoice, the solution provides visibility into profit margins in all areas.
Roland DGA Corporation, booth 4616, demonstrates the new RF-640 8-Color printer, TrueVIS VG2 series printer/cutters, VersaUV LEF2 series flatbed printers, and new LV series laser engravers.
Sappi, booth 5123, showcases dye-sublimation papers, inkjet papers, and casting and release papers.
Scodix, booth 8616, presents the Scodix Ultra 202 digital enhancement press. The Scodix Ultra 202 offers up to nine Scodix applications including Scodix Sense, Scodix Foil, Scodix Metallic, Scodix VDE, Scodix Glitter, Scodix Braille, Scodix Crystals, Scodix Spot, and Scodix Cast&Cure.
Solimar Systems, booth 11248, shows the latest innovations in PDF optimization with the new ReadyPDF. This solution repairs and streamlines PDF files for high-speed print engines such as inkjet. Plus, it shows print workflow tools including its out-of-the-box tracking and dashboard solution and other technology innovation like personalized and location-based augmented reality.
Xanté, booth 3604, features its X-32 Industrial Production UV Printer, the En/Press Multimedia Digital Press, the new iQueue 14 Workflow Software, and the new EnVite Multimedia Digital Press.
Zünd, booth 7827, exhibits the fully configured S3/G3 and dual-beam D3 cutting systems and various digital automation workflows, including the high-speed Over-Cutter Camera system OCC, a registration system that captures all register marks in the cutting area with one image.
